 10/27/06 On December 29th 2005, His Eminence Archbishop Abbatachin Abune Yesehaq the Primate of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere and Southern Africa peacefully departed this world, to be with the Lord.  Although His Eminence Abbatachin Abune Yesehaq is no longer physicaly with us, his great works remain with us all.  Let us continue his mission.  Let us give thanks!

3/23/05  The St Phillips Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church-Soweto on the Sea has recently been established in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.  This is the 10th Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church to be established in South Africa, under the authority of His Eminence Abune Yesehaq, Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere and Southern Africa.  This is indeed a great day, in the history of South Africa.  May God continue to bless the Apostleship of His Eminence Abune Yesehaq.

11/1 On Sunday, November 7, 2004, Kes Gebre Mikael will be celebrating the Commemoration of Medhane Alem (the Savior of the World), at the Medhane Alem Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Toronto, Canada.  This will be immediately followed by the Procession of the Cross.  There will also be a Fund Raiser.  This will be a very joyous occassion.  All are welcome!

10/5 Last week Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka Iwas, the Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church was greeted at the airport in India by thousands of His followers.  This is His third patriarchal visit to review the Syrian Jacobite Churches in India.  During His visit, the Patriarch met with the Prime Minister of India along with Sonia Ghandi, the Chairwoman of the Congress Party of India.

9/16/04 On August 26-29, the Annual Conference of the Archdiocese of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere and Southern Africa was held at St Michael's Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Cathedral in Dallas, Texas.  The Conference was presided over by His Eminence Abune Yesehaq, the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere and Southern Africa.  The Conference was very successful.

3/5 His Holiness Mor Ignatius Zakka Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East consecrated two monks to the status of Bishops on Sunday the 9th of February 2003, at the Patriarchal Cathedral of St Peter & St Paul in Syria.

2/28 Patriarchal Day Celebrations took place in both Syria and India, on Febuary 23rd. There were huge turnouts. The participants were the Syrian Orthodox Church and the Syrian Jacobite Malankara Church(Indian Orthodox Church).

2/7 His Eminence Abune Yesehaq, Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in the Western Hemisphere and Southern Africa just returned from a very successful visit to the Holy Trinity Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Kingston, Jamaica. The Jamaicans are presently in the process of building a great Cathedral. His Eminence was there for one month.

2/7 The Medhane Alem Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Trinidad had Harvest Day on Sunday, February 7th. This was a very successful event, attending by many many people. Jewelry, clothing, and produce were sold.

1/3/03 Egyptian President Hosni Mubarrak in a public address has declared January 7th-Christmas Day not just a Christian Holiday, but a National Holiday in Egypt. This is a great day for the Coptic Orthodox Christians. This is a great day for all of Christianity
