This is a very beautiful lesson.  Let us try to understand it.  Our Lord and Savior was preaching to the multitude, which consisted of 5,000 men.  However if you counted the women and children it would have come to 20,000 people.  At the end of this great lecture which lasted almost a day, all of the people were hungry and tired.  The Apostles wanted the people to go home.  However our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ wanted them to stay.  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ asked St Phillip and St Andrew to find food.  Finally, the two Apostles came upon a little boy, whose mother had prepared 2 pieces of fish and 5 loaves of bread for his lunch.  When the Apostles asked him for this food, he did not hesitate to give it to them.  No remember, this was all that the little boy had.  With this small amount of food, our Lordand Savior Jesus Christ was able to feed 20,000 people.  After everyone was feed, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ asked the Apostles to pick up the crumbs.  There were 12 baskets full.  From this lesson, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ teaches us three things:

1. God gives us everyting in abundance.

2. We all should be humble, obedient, and giving, just like that Little Boy.

3. We should be frugal.
